What we’ve done

Coined the ESG concept for the United Nations in 2004, partnering with the world’s largest investors, and now see it sweeping the investment world while igniting populist fury
Delivered the UN Principles for Responsible Investment creating a $120 trillion global sustainability investment ecosystem
Built over a generation unique partnerships with Canada’s First Nations to build resilience and ensure recognition and reward for their stewardship of natural capital
Engineered a global partnership with the potential to drive a better life for 45 million artisanal and small scale miners, their 220 million dependents, and 200 millions suppliers, representing over 5% of humanity
Crafted a for-profit, affordable credit offering, to provide productive-use energy technologies for 60,000 families in Western Kenya and we have planted the concept in Brazil
Forged with the Brazilian State of Espirito Santo (ES) the concept of a Sustainable State Investment Model (SSIM TM). We have the goal of making “ES the ESG Capital of the World” by 2032. SSIM TM is replicable, scalable and exportable worldwide.

ESG²: Complex Converging Systemic Risks (CCSR’s)

The very nature of risk on a warming, crowded, volatile and unequal planet is changing – we call it CCSR.
These globe-spanning risks, ranging from the climate crisis through to biodiversity loss, conflict, spiraling inequalities and a social media ecosystem that amplifies misinformation, demand new approaches.
Integrated solutions that reflect the underlying nature of individual risks as well as the intersections across risks, are needed to mitigate the impacts of these rapidly spiraling risks.
Solutions naturally incorporate scaled capital flows, public policy and business action.
A CCSR mindset is not only a natural extension of an ESG mindset, it is also the basis of a powerful methodology that allows us to think through how risks are evolving and how our solutions can help locally as well as from broader risk mitigation perspectives.
