About

The Partners at The Blended Capital Group think big, act, and measure impact.

Across diverse fields, we have delivered sustainability solutions for four decades. Novel Powerful Impact Partnerships are at the heart of what we build for clients.

We continue to innovate through ESG Inside – our new approach launched in April 2025. To deliver ESG Inside we employ ESG4.0. We developed ESG4.0 to help governments, corporations, investors and civil society tackle Complex Converging Systemic Risk (CCSR). ESG4.0 helps unlock hidden sustainability value for communities worldwide. Our ESG4.0 Masterclass is where to start to catalyze ESG Inside for your organization’s needs.

Last Mile becomes First Mile…

In TBCG’s world you’ll see the phrase First Mile Communities, often called Last Mile Communities by many others. First Mile Communities are the farmers, miners, fishing communities, foresters, and fringe urban workers, so often found at the very beginning of rich global value chains.

What we’ve done

  • Coined the ESG concept for the United Nations in 2004 and now see it sweeping the investment world and igniting populist fury.
  • Delivered the UN Principles for Responsible Investment creating a $120 trillion global sustainability investment ecosystem.
  • Engineered a global partnership with the potential to drive a better life for 45 million artisanal and small-scale (ASM) miners, their 220 million dependents, and 200 million suppliers. This represents 5% of humanity.
  • Created a digitally driven, affordable credit business, to supply productive-use energy technologies for 60,000 families in Western Kenya. The concept is being exported to Brazil to provide off grid sanitation and clean energy cooking choices.
  • Forged with the State of Espirito Santo (ES), Brazil, the concept of a Sustainable State Investment Model (SSIMTM). We aim to make “ES the ESG Capital of the World” by 2032. SSIMTM is replicable, scalable and exportable worldwide.
  • Built unique partnerships with Canada’s First Nations to create resilience and reward their stewardship of natural capital.

Authenticity – How we work

  • Commercially realistic sustainability is our DNA: we deliver advice, designs and solutions
that are relevant, replicable, scalable and seek value optimization.
  • We hard wire ESG Inside to unearth authentic sustainability treasure for corporates and
    investors.
  • We deliver solutions that re-imagine value chain outcomes while enhancing corporate
reputation and resilience. We connect international Board Rooms with First Mile
    Communities.
  • Our approach is collaborative: we know that strength and wisdom comes from collective
    insights

Complex Converging Systemic Risk (CCSR) – ESG4.0

  • The very nature of risk is changing. On a warming, crowded, volatile, unequal, and
resource stressed planet, risk is metastasizing.
  • At TBCG we call it Complex Converging Systemic Risk (CCSR).
  • A CCSR mindset is the natural extension of our ESG Inside approach.ESG4.0 allows clients
to think through how risks are evolving and where to find new opportunities.
  • CCSR demands new approaches from public and private institutions.
  • Integrated solutions that reflect individual risks as well as the intersections across risks,
    are needed.
  • An ESG Inside mindset helps to identify, manage, mitigate and transfer risks in new ways.
  • Solutions need us to look at public policy, scaled capital flows and how businesses can
    have maximum impact.

UN SDG 17 underpins our work

  • For Blended Capital, UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnership/Collaboration) should be SDG 1 – nothing happens without partnership.
  • Global Value Chain opportunities: our advice, designs and solutions consider broad value chain implications and the intersection of diverse stakeholders.
  • Combining public and private stakeholders: the best solutions consider investor, business and regulatory implications.
  • Bringing expertise together: we leverage our global network of specialists to create new opportunities.
  • Bringing capital together: we draw on our network of investors to make things happen with impact.
